Easy Oven Sliders
I have been
doing a lot of thinking lately about adding more content to my blog besides our
latest video blogs which lately have consisted of mostly Peyton's artwork. By the way thanks Peyton, because of you we
are now (as of the date of this writing) up to 186 YouTube subscribers!!!! But I digress, I want to add a series of
weeknight recipes that have been our go to for quick and easy dinners for my
little family. Anyone who knows me knows
I am not big on cooking. Don't get me
wrong I am a good cook and if I have the time and want to put in the effort I
can come up with some great meals. But
when it's 5pm and I have been working all day the last thing I want to do is
stand over the stove and fast food has gotten old and even getting the
healthier options from their menus is still not as good as what you can make at
home.
One of our all-time
favorite dinners, the one I always hear a "Yay!" For is my
sliders. I developed this recipe after
seeing something similar to it on Pinterest but tweaking it in a way that works
for my family. So not only tasty but
versatile. They can also be paired with
so many different things, we usually will pair it with a fruit and chips or
salad and French fries/tater tots. The
Key is to use 80/20 ground beef (don’t worry you will be draining off the fat
after they are cooked) this way they are super juicy and moist. You can add any kind of sauce or topping you
like but we prefer Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce add that to the bed of onion the
burgers are cooked on you have the best sliders you have ever had! The piece de resistance and final touch is
Martin's Potato slider buns to top it off.
Serves 3
Ingredients:
1lb. 80/20
Ground Beef
1 med onion
roughly chopped
¾ c. Finely
shredded cheese, I prefer fiesta blend
Season salt
Martin's
Potato Slider Buns
Seasoned
Salt to taste
Sweet Baby
Rays BBQ Sauce
Directions:
Preheat oven
to 375 degrees. Roughly chop onion and
place in the bottom of a 9x6in baking dish.
Press the ground beef into the bottom of the pan tightly and evenly to
prevent holes and gaps. Sprinkle the top
with season salt and bake in oven for 20 mins.
While sliders are baking get your buns ready. On the bottoms of each bun add a tablespoon
of sauce and set the tops aside. When
the ground beef is cooked drain the pan of grease, turn off oven and top with
cheese. Place pan back in oven for a few
minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
After it is melted place the tops of the buns on the ground beef and
using a pizza cutter cut in between the bun tops and place the individual
burgers on the bottoms and VIOLA! Tasty,
juicy sliders!
